Job Opening: Research Scientist at a KTH Ventures–Backed Medical AI Startup

A KTH Ventures–backed startup originating from research at KTH Royal Institute of Technology is expanding its team. The company is developing advanced AI methods for acute stroke diagnostics, using deep learning to extract clinically actionable information from non-contrast CT scans. As the project moves from research toward clinical application, the team is now seeking a Research Scientist to lead algorithmic R&D and help translate cutting-edge research into life-saving diagnostic tools.

KTH Ventures is managing a start-up project emanating from research at KTH revolutionizing diagnostic imaging. The project is pushing the boundaries of what is possible in radiology by applying advanced deep learning to solve critical problems in acute stroke care. The core mission is to develop novel AI solutions that predict advanced diagnostic information from non-contrast CT scans, aiming to accelerate stroke diagnosis and reduce patient exposure to contrast agents. We are now looking for a Research Scientist to join a growing team and drive the development of the core algorithms.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Research Scientist to lead the R&D during a one-year contract position starting in February 2026. In this role, you will bridge the gap between theoretical deep learning and clinical application, guiding research efforts and contributing to the advancement of next-generation diagnostic tools. This position is ideal for someone with a PhD and relevant industry experience, with a track record of publishing in high-impact journals and a passion for saving lives through code
