Traditional blood sampling is invasive, requires trained healthcare professionals, and often involves complex logistics such as biohazard handling and cold-chain transportation. These limitations make routine testing and large-scale health monitoring highly impractical, particularly in remote, underserved, or resource-limited regions.
Based on many years of research at KTH within microsystems technology, Samplimy is developing a new generation of microsampling devices designed to make the collection of biological samples easier, more accessible and scalable. Its technology enables users to comfortably and easily collect a small, precise sample volume to be sent back to a lab using regular post. Samplimy's product portfolio includes the CWB-1 for capillary whole blood sampling and the ISF-1 for sampling dermal interstitial fluid. The latter provides access to biomarkers in the tissue environment and unlocks new insights in areas such as drug development and skin health.
By simplifying sample collection, Samplimy aims to enable more frequent and longitudinal sampling, improving access to biological data in research and healthcare. Potential applications include clinical research, decentralized clinical trials, biomarker discovery, population screening and precision medicine. The company is currently focused on providing research customers with a robust, user-friendly and cost-effective microsampling platform.
